New timings for government offices have been fixed for the holy month of Ramadan. Like other years, the office timings of all government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions have been rearranged from 9 am to 3:30 pm during the month of Ramadan.
A notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday.
The notification mentioned that this timing has been fixed considering the timings of Sehri and Iftar during the month of Ramadan. However, Fridays and Saturdays will remain weekly holidays as before.
The notification said that banks, insurance and other financial institutions, postal services, railways, hospitals and state-owned industrial institutions, factories and other emergency service providers will fix their own office timings according to their own laws or rules, considering the public interest. Apart from this, the Supreme Court and all the courts under it will determine the timings.
The holy month of Ramadan may begin at the beginning of next month, subject to the sighting of the moon.
