Uttara West Police Station has rescued journalist Abu Hasan, a staff reporter of Dainik Somoyer Kontha newspaper, while he was being kidnapped and arrested two members of the kidnapping team.

This information was given by Dhaka Metro Police’s Uttara Zone DC Mohidul Islam at a press conference on Sunday (April 27) night.

The victim alleged that a girl named Rebeya Akhter Rita called him on Sunday evening and asked for help in rape. The girl asked him to go near the North Tower but later took him to a nearby place. There, around 8:30 pm, as soon as the girl left, 7-8 people in a HiS microbus forcibly took her into the car. Later, she broke the car’s glass and jumped out.

Hearing the reporter’s screams, the police and the people went and rescued her. At that time, the police detained Faisal and driver Jamirul Islam, and the microbus was also seized. Police said they have received a lot of information about those involved in this gang, and the rest will be arrested in a short time.
